Northumberland is officially 'the most tranquil county in England' as decreed by CPRE (Council for the Protection of Rural England). On the Northumberland Coast you can enjoy mile after mile of clean, unspoilt sandy beaches set against an amazing backdrop of castles and fortifications - perfect for a kids' day out. Move inland a few miles and you're in the midst of the most beautiful rolling hills and countryside, peppered with pretty towns and villages, and historic castles and houses. Northumberland and the Borders - a 'secret kingdom' waiting to be explored and discovered.
