The Border Tart: NNTA Newsletter November 2003

NNTA NEW WEB SITE: MEMBERS' DIRECTORY
After a series of difficulties we are glad to announce that the promised web site for our association, with new domain names registered, is at this moment in very active production for its launch soon. Your Committee is very enthusiastic about it and the site is being carefully planned to be of real benefit to members of the association. It is intended to enhance existing area web sites, to which it will be linked, and not to duplicate their work or compete with them. It will have the double function of publicising the NNTA and serving our association members whilst also telling potential tourists what a unique area North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders is to visit.

We have engaged Jason Thompson of sound-ideas.net, whose expertise in designing and maintaining such a site has been vouched for by Committee Member Ann Park, whose hotel has already benefited from his work. All the Committee have been impressed so far by Jason's professionalism and efficiency, and he has offered the association a very good value package. He will be giving Members a tour of the new web site at the AGM on January 29th 2004 at the Guildhall, Berwick, when he will explain exactly how Members can benefit from it.
A Members' Directory will be part of the web site, and in order to include Members' up-to-date details we ask you to submit now a short summing up of the nature of your tourism business, with full contact details, including your name, address and postcode, telephone and fax numbers, E-mail & web site addresses where available, to Secretary John Murphy as soon as possible ( absolute deadline: Friday December 5th ) so that he can collate these. For those in the serviced accommodation, self-catering and holiday parks categories, latest quality standard accreditation details can be left to Lorna Suthren to add.

John Murphy's address is Ford & Etal Estates, Heatherslaw Mill, Cornhill-on-Tweed, TD12 4TJ tel: 01890-820338, fax: 01890-820384, E-mail: tourism@ford-and-etal.co.uk
