Footsteps – walking the beauty of Northumberland

On a Footsteps walk, we will explore the Heritage Coast, its castles, golden beaches and the once busy fishing villages. We will walk in the countryside with its villages, hamlets and market towns scattered across the farming landscape and explore the wild river valleys and wilder Cheviot Hills in the Northumberland National Park.

We offer a choice of guided walks over half a day, a whole day and somewhere in between the two. A monthly walking programme can be downloaded from our website and we lead guided walks throughout the year.

On a Footsteps walk, you will discover something of the history of the landscape, its people and the amazing wildlife that we may see along the way. Already this year, we have seen goshawks and peregrine falcons and the wildlflowers have been wonderful. Bring all this together with an expert guide who gets you there and back again and you can be sure of an excellent day out in the Northumberland countryside.

There is a Footsteps walk every day between Wednesday and Sunday, either on the coast, in the countryside or the hills and valleys of the National Park.
